We have developed an automated arc-melting system. However, when the synthesis results are suboptimal, manual adjustments of parameters such as arc current and melting time are still required, limiting the system’s level of autonomy. To enhance automation, we have integrated optical cameras, combined with machine learning algorithms. This enables closed-loop control, allowing the system to autonomously adjust operating parameters in real time and reduce reliance on human intervention. The system is currently used for synthesizing superconducting alloys, with superconductivity confirmed via SQUID measurements. In the future, it can be extended to other material systems.
