High-intensity lasers in the 2 µm wavelength region are highly anticipated as pump sources for single-cycle lasers to generate attosecond pulses at high repetition rates and next-generation drivers for EUV lithography. To realize this 2 µm laser source, we focus on a Ho:YAG Thin-Disk (Ho:YAG TD), which oscillates with high efficiency in the 2.1 µm region and suppresses thermal effects during laser operation at high repetition rates and high power. In this presentation, we propose a 2.1 µm high-intensity ultrafast laser system using a Ho:YAG TD. Additionally, we report the current development status of the Ho:YAG TD laser.
