To elucidate the influence of an electrostatic field on the dynamics of a liquid jet, a breakup simulation was conducted by incorporating the force induced by the Maxwell stress tensor. In this study, a liquid jet with a diameter of 130 μm under an electrostatic field generated by an AC power source with a maximum voltage of 11.5 kV and a frequency of 10 kHz was simulated. A comparison with the case without the electrostatic field revealed that, under the present conditions, the electrostatic field has little effect on the breakup position of the liquid jet.
