In this study, we aim to enhance the gradient force in optical tweezers by exciting the molecular vibrations of targeted microparticles using a mid-infrared laser. Since this gradient force enhancement depends on the laser wavelength, we expect to be able to selectively trapping microparticles with specific molecular species. In the experiment, we verified the wavenumber dependence of PMMA particles with a resonance absorption peak at a wavenumber of around 1725 cm-1 due to C=O stretching vibrations and confirmed the trapping of micro-particles.
