Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) is known as the most common technique for terahertz spectroscopy. However, the widespread adoption of this method has been hindered by the need for large and expensive femtosecond pulse lasers and complex optical systems. To address this issue, this research explores the development of a dual-comb spectroscopy technique using a compact semiconductor device—specifically, a resonant tunneling diode (RTD) terahertz oscillator—that enables coherent measurements comparable to THz-TDS.
