Multiferroic materials, which exhibit both ferroelectricity and magnetic order, are promising for device applications utilizing magnetoelectric effects, such as non-volatile magnetic memory and magnetic sensors. First-principles calculations have predicted that YBaFe2O5F exhibits multiferroic properties at room temperature. To evaluate these properties, single-crystalline oxyfluorides are required. In this study, we aimed to fabricate YBaFe2O5F single-crystalline thin films and investigated changes in crystal structure and chemical composition as a function of the topochemical fluorination temperature.
