In recent years, smartphones equipped with LiDAR have become available, enabling easy three-dimensional shape measurement and potential applications in virtual spaces such as the metaverse. This study proposes an effective color mapping method to convert LiDAR-acquired depth data into a highly compressed, standard video format. By doing so, the data can be stored efficiently and analyzed later for motion tracking or 3D shape analysis, while significantly reducing storage requirements.
