Development is underway toward realizing large-scale quantum computers by parallelizing quantum nodes through optical interfaces, using nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond as quantum memories. The construction of optical interfaces capable of confining both photons and phonons is highly anticipated. In this study, we have designed a diamond resonator that supports both photonic and phononic modes, and confirmed that both optical and mechanical confinement are achieved.
