We developed a portable optical frequency comb for open-path measurements using a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror (NALM)-type fiber comb as a light source. It provides a broadband near-infrared spectrum from 1.1 to 2.3 μm and allows operation at propagation distances of up to 90 m. Furthermore, the portable optical comb was deployed in an outdoor environment, and open-path measurements were performed at a propagation distance of 40 m. Finally, optical heterodyne signals were measured under open-path conditions, demonstrating that the system can be immediately applied to dual-comb spectroscopy.
