In this study, we theoretically investigate the possibility of controlling crystal structural of a bilayer nickelate superconductor La3Ni2O7 under ambient pressure using light. This material exhibits superconductivity under pressure, accompanied by a structural phase transition. We focused on “nonlinear phononics”, which is a method of controlling structure by optical phonon excitation. We performed numerical simulations with first-principles calculations. As a result of the analysis, we confirmed the possibility of approaching the structure where the superconducting state is generated by adjusting the phonon mode of excitation.
