In this study, the addition of a polymerisation inhibitor (hydroquinone), UV irradiation and the addition of ethanol to the etching solution were used to shorten the etching time, which is an issue when using the solid-state track detector PADC as an educational tool for primary and secondary school students. The effectiveness of each method was evaluated by comparing the time required for the etch pit diameter to reach 10 µm.
