The CO2 methanation is one of the CCU technologies to convert CO2 into CH4 resource. We have developed a technology in which the reaction is strongly accelerated by internal heating of the reaction field by hydrogen combustion under oxygen coexistence using a structural catalyst. On the other hand, direct energization of the structured catalyst on a metal support is considered as other internal heating method. In this presentation, we demonstrate that CO2 methanation by directly energizing the spiral-type structured catalyst quite effectively convert CO2 to CH4 than the normal heating method.
