In a system without space and time inversion symmetries, magnetolectric (ME) effects induce directional birefringence for unpolarized wave. Previous study shows that a ME metamolecule with Fano resonance exhibits one-way transparency. Reciprocity principle indicates that such a metamolecule results in unidirectional mode excitation by an external power supply. This talk presents a detailed discussion about the unidirectional mode excitation by a metamolecule with nonreciprocal Fano resonance.
