Inkjet film formation using an aqueous solution in which cubic-shaped particles are dispersed is expected to fabricate an accumulation of particles and use the surface potential of substrate surface to control the orientation properties of the particles. In this study, we investigated the orientation of the particles on a texture-etched surface using an aqueous solution containing a dispersion of cubic-shaped hydrothermally synthesized particles. The results of X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy show that the particles are stable with their surface in contact with the substrate surface, regardless of the texture etching treatment. However, in order to deposit a continuous thin film, a higher concentration of dispersed particles is desired.
