We have been developing an ultra-low-threshold silicon Raman laser using a high-Q nanocavity. Until now, the optical characteristics of the silicon Raman laser have been investigated using microspectroscopic techniques on miniature silicon chips. In order to broaden its application fields, it is important to package the device into a fiber module so that it can be readily used by a wide range of researchers. In this work, we report on the prototyping of a fiber module incorporating the silicon Raman laser and the evaluation of its performance.
