For optical communication systems based on multicore fibers, efficient optical coupling between the fiber and a photonic integrated circuit is essential. In this presentation, we report the fabrication and experimental demonstration of a compact device composed of dielectric metasurfaces on both sides of a silica substrate. This device simultaneously achieves multiple functionalities necessary for direct coupling between a multicore fiber and a SiN waveguide array, including polarization splitting, polarization rotation, array rearrangement, and spot-size conversion.
