Optical wireless power transmission (OWPT) is attracting attention as a new energy transmission technology. We introduced a DBR structure into a GaAs solar cell that can efficiently absorb light in a wavelength band with low loss in free space. We investigated the wavelength dependence of photoelectric conversion efficiency. As a result, the effect of DBR was particularly high near the band edge, and a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 55.6% (850 nm) was obtained. From these results, it can be expected that GaAs solar cells will be applied to OWPT in the near-infrared region.
