In this study, we focused on the microparticles generated by heating a CuCl2/PEG solution, and investigated the conditions for their generation and their shape. We also evaluated the effect of adding NaCl in suppressing the generation of microparticles. SEM and EDX showed that tetrahedral CuCl particles were generated when a CuCl2/PEG solution was heated. On the other hand, in a CuCl2/NaCl/PEG solution, no precipitation of CuCl particles was observed, and instead particles thought to be NaCl were generated.
