By using polyyne (C2nH2) as a carbon source, we prepared long linear carbon chain (LLCC) confined inside single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). Raman spectrum showed that the intensity of L band was stronger than that of G band. This indicates that the density of LLCC was the highest, compared with that encapsulated in small-diameter SWCNTs (d < 0.8 nm).
