NdNiO3 is a strongly correlated oxide that optical and electrical properties change with a metal-insulator transition. Controlling optical and electrical properties are expected to be used in applications as an electrochromic material. NiO is known as an electrochromic material with high coloration efficiency. On the other hand, no significant changes in electrical resistivity are observed before and after the electrochemical redox. In this study, NiO and NdNiO3 films were deposited by rf sputtering and changes in electrical and optical properties associated with metal-insulator transition caused by the proton injection were investigated in detail.
