In recent years, the rapid increase in the volume of wireless communications has led to a demand for higher frequency bands, and in Beyond 5G, the use of THz bands in the range of 100 GHz to 1 THz is being considered. Due to the limitation of high-frequency wireless technology using electronics, THz wireless communication technology using photonics technology is attracting attention. In this study, we attempted to generate a high-frequency modulated wave using THz waves as a carrier wave by modulating the output light of a heterogeneous two-wavelength tunable laser in the optical domain.
