As an on-chip LiDAR equipped with a Si photonics non-mechanical beam scanner, we have developed a slow light diffraction grating (SLG) scanner and FMCW LiDAR chip consisting of photonic crystals. Using a wavelength-sweeping light source, we have simultaneously achieved beam scanning and FMCW ranging, enabling real-time LiDAR operation. In this study, we aim to achieve similar functionality for a LiDAR chip equipped with a 4-subarray SLG, which is expected to have high reception sensitivity.
