Optical communication in the visible regime has recently garnered increasing interest. However, there are limited reports on the application of coherent detection within this wavelength range. In this paper, we demonstrate a coherent optical communication system operating at 780 nm, utilizing a 90-degree optical hybrid integrated on a silicon nitride (SiN) platform. This achievement highlights the potential to realize the advantages of coherent detection, such as high sensitivity and multi-level modulation, using integrated photonics in the visible regime.
