We are developing a Yb:YAG TD laser towards a high-average-power RA laser. We report to the best of our knowledge a stable CW lasing with a high optical efficiency of 48% and a slope efficiency of 58%, and near diffraction-limited beam quality (M2 = 1.08), by optimizing the cavity design, which will be applied to our development of high-power RA and serve as pump source for generating a few-cycle MIR pulses.
