The mid-infrared attenuated total reflection spectra of plasma samples reflects the molecular structure of blood components, enable disease diagnosis through multivariate analysis. However, the type of anticoagulant used during plasma sample preparation can influence the spectra data and thus affect diagnostic accuracy. To address this issue, the impact of anticoagulant type on brain tumor diagnosis is evaluated, and this influence is mitigated by excluding wavenumbers showing significant differences in mid-infrared absorption from the analysis.
