We report a passive ladder-shaped FBG Sensor network with fault detection. Time- and wavelength-division multiplexing is applied to increase the number of FBG sensor heads. A heterodyne detection technique is used to sensitively detect weak reflections from fiber Bragg gratings incorporated in the network. We show abilities of the system to perform the fault detection and the bidirectional access to the heads without active mechanical devices.
