X-ray CT is a technology that enables non-destructive visualization of the internal structure of an object using X-rays. In recent years, photon-counting CT, which allows for low-dose imaging and spectral (multi-energy) capability, has attracted significant attention. We are developing a photon-counting CT (PC-CT) system using a scintillator-based detector, which offers a cost-effective alternative to semiconductor detectors due to its lower manufacturing costs. In this study, we conducted performance comparison experiments aimed at optimizing the scintillator, evaluating its energy resolution and count rate tolerance.
