To improve the OSL sensitivity of BeO ceramic plates, we investigated a measurement method involving thermal treatment after readout. BeO samples were irradiated with X-rays and subjected to an initial OSL measurement, followed by a pre-heat process and a second OSL readout. This combined method resulted in up to twice the signal intensity compared to standard OSL measurement alone. The enhancement is attributed to the thermal activation of previously inactive traps that were not released by optical stimulation. These findings suggest that post-readout thermal treatment is an effective technique for achieving high-sensitivity OSL measurements with BeO ceramics and could contribute to the development of advanced dosimetry systems in the medical field.
