At the Fast Neutron Laboratory (FNL) of Tohoku University, a 4.5 MV Dynamitron accelerator and various target reactions have been utilized to generate monoenergetic neutron fields for cross-section measurements of fusion materials and detector evaluations. In order to expand the facility's capabilities, it is essential not only to pulse the accelerator beam, but also to evaluate neutron yield and fluence. In this study, pulsed operation of the 4.5 MV Dynamitron accelerator was implemented, and the n-γ discrimination characteristics of the EJ-276 plastic scintillator were evaluated using a D(d,n) neutron source.
