In recent years, novel approaches to utilizing heat have been proposed. These include systems that extract energy from temporal variations in ambient temperature, spontaneously generate thermal gradients, and systems that drive chemical reactions via thermally excited charges in molecules or semiconductors. These emerging technologies have in common the use of relatively low-temperature heat, enabling electricity generation even when the ambient temperature remains constant. This symposium aims to bring together scientists researching these innovative technologies to construct a new theoretical framework for thermal energy conversion.
