Hydrogen is attracting attention as a clean energy source, but hydrogen production by the general steam reforming method is considered to be "grey" hydrogen production. Here, we report an attempt to produce hydrogen by sonochemistry and capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere under ambient temperature and pressure by supplementation of Ca to the system with water and alcohol. Since the system used is highly similar to the conditions for the synthesis of calcite micro-particles from amorphous calcium carbonate, this system may satisfy the conditions for the growth of calcite under ambient atmospheric conditions.
