In this presentation, we report the polarization behavior of SHG signals from vertically arranged chiral Au nanoparticle dimers. The generated SHG signal is nearly linearly polarized irrespective of the handedness of the circularly polarized pump light, whereas its polarization direction is dependent strongly on the pump handedness. FDTD simulations suggested that right- and left-handed circularly polarized excitation selectively enhanced the optical fields around different nanoparticles in the dimer. The polarization characteristics of the SHG emitted from the selectively excited nanoparticle therefore determine the far-field SHG polarization from the entire dimer structure.
