We evaluated the emission characteristics of a random laser containing two particle clusters formed by optical trapping, through both experiment and 3D-FDTD simulation. Cluster formation increased the intensity and number of spikes, confirming an improvement in lasing efficiency. In particular, high emission spectral peak intensities were obtained at inter-cluster spacings of approximately 10–15 µm, suggesting that optimizing both the probability of an optical round-trip between the clusters and the gain length contributes to improved lasing properties.
