To develop visible-light-responsive CaTiO3 single-particle photocatalysts, the effects of small amounts of Rh doping and Mg2+/Sc3+ codoping were investigated. H2 and O2 evolution was confirmed for samples with low Rh concentrations, and CaTiO3:Rh0.04,Sc,Al exhibited the highest activity. Sc3+ codoping suppressed particle growth and produced small, uniform particles while maintaining the exposed {111} facets. Facet-selective cocatalyst distribution was also suggested, demonstrating the effectiveness of structural control.
