[10a-PA5-8]Enhanced Water-Splitting Activity of BaTiO3 Photocatalysts via Sc and Mg Co-Doping

In this study, Al, Sc, and Mg co-doping was applied to BaTiO3 to enhance its photocatalytic activity for water splitting. The resulting BaTiO3:Al,Sc,Mg photocatalyst exhibited a hydrogen evolution rate of 1.5 mmol/h and an apparent quantum yield (AQY) of 48.6 % at 365 nm. SEM observations indicated that the addition of Sc and Mg promoted particle size reduction and increased the specific surface area, which contributed to the improved photocatalytic activity.
