In this study, crystal growth control using a flux method was investigated to improve the performance of barium titanate (BaTiO3) as a photocatalyst for water splitting. By optimizing the BaCl2 flux treatment and cooling conditions, particle morphology became more uniform, crystal facets developed, and particle surfaces became smoother, suggesting an improvement in crystallinity. In addition, the crystal growth conditions were found to have a significant influence on particle morphology. However, variations in particle shape still remained, indicating that further optimization of the synthesis conditions is required.
