In recent years, the remarkable increase in communication capacity has made the development of low-power and high-performance optical modulators increasingly important. In this study, we investigated the group refractive index and segmented electrode structure of an InP/EO-polymer hybrid (IPH) modulator incorporating a photonic crystal structure to suppress optical loss caused by metal electrodes, with the aim of achieving broadband operation.
