Despite significant progress in telecom-band nanowire lasers, continuous-wave (CW) operation at room temperature remains challenging. Here, by introducing whispering-gallery-mode cavities with a high Q factor (>10,000) into bottom-up InP/InAs nanowires, we demonstrate room-temperature CW operation of telecom-band nanowire lasers.
