In recent years, changes in thermodynamic parameters and chemical reactivity induced by polariton formation have attracted considerable attention, suggesting that strong light–matter interactions can modulate material functions themselves. However, the influence of polaritons on electrical conductivity, electronic orbitals, and electronic states near the Fermi level remains largely unexplored. In particular, for exciton–plasmon strong coupling systems, experimental studies that directly correlate the emergence of strong coupling in optical responses with changes in electronic states remain limited. In this presentation, we report our recent results aimed at experimentally elucidating the electronic states near the Fermi level in exciton–plasmon strong coupling systems, with the broader goal of understanding polariton-induced changes in material properties.
