Single-crystal diamond is a promising material for next-generation power, high-frequency, and quantum devices. However, the limited availability of large-area freestanding diamond substrates remains a major challenge. In this study, Ni–Cu alloy single crystals with <100>, <111>, and <110> orientations were grown by the S-CZ method. The crystal orientation, crystal quality, and lattice parameters of fabricated substrates were evaluated to assess their potential as lattice-matched substrates for diamond growth.
