The photocatalytic reaction occurs with 2-photon absorption in rutile TiO2 via O vacancies. The exciton is generated at the first excitation stage. Since the electrons and holes are combined, the exciton may disappear through the photo-generation process. We will clarify why 2-photon absorption occurs before the exciton extinction.
