In this study, we measured the ionization energies of representative radical cation (RC) salts and their constituent donor molecules, and investigated the resulting energy shifts. For RC salts composed of BTBT, namely (BTBT)2XF6 (X = P, Sb, Ta), the work function was found to be in the range of approximately -5.9 < EF < -5.8 eV, showing a tendency to be slightly deeper than the EHOMO of semiconducting BTBT. This trend is opposite to that reported in previous studies, suggesting that stabilization occurs upon complex formation, and this point is currently under detailed investigation.
