Co-based Heusler alloys are expected to exhibit large tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) effects owing to their high spin polarization. In particular, Co2FeAlxSi1-xis promising for biomagnetic sensor applications using magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs), because the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant K1 can be reduced to nearly zero by controlling the Al/Si composition ratio. In this presentation, we report the magnetocrystalline anisotropy K1and TMR properties of Co2FeAl0.13Si0.87 single-layer films and MTJs, whose composition is close to K1 ~ 0.
