Alkyl sulfonated polyimide (ASPI) is an amphiphilic polymer electrolyte that forms lamellar structures owing to its lyotropic liquid crystalline nature and is promising as an artificial CEI material. In this study, ASPI-2-Li thin films with thicknesses ranging from 4.2 to 50.4 nm were prepared, and their structure, density, and molecular orientation were evaluated by X-ray reflectivity measurements and MAIRS2. The results revealed that the main-chain orientation angle changed significantly below a film thickness of 10 nm, leading to an almost completely in-plane orientation.
