Mg3Bi2 is a trigonal Zintl-phase semimetal that shows high thermoelectric performance near room temperature. However, its instability in air is known to degrade this performance. This study investigates the decomposition mechanism of epitaxial Mg3Bi2 thin films grown by molecular beam epitaxy through detailed structural analysis.
