Germanene is easily oxidized, which is a major obstacle to device fabrication. However, chemical control of oxidized germanene has not been actively investigated so far. In this presentation, we report the discovery of two processing routes for monolayer oxidized germanene on Ag(111) thin films/Ge(111): removal by a solution process and reduction by a dry hydrogen exposure process.
