Hexabromotriphenylene(HBTP) molecules deposited on Au(111) surface through a heated Cu-nozzle were observed by STM. The number of Br atoms dissociated from a molecule and the percentage of the molecule that lacked Br atoms also increased, as increase of the temperature of the Cu-nozzle. The results indicate that the heated Cu-nozzle can debrominate the molecule.
