We investigate a bottom-plasmon (BP) mode that forms a symmetry-protected bound state in the continuum (BIC) at the Γ point in a THz-band Fabry–Pérot (FP) band-pass filter. The BP mode does not couple to radiation under normal incidence. Partial symmetry breaking couples the BP mode to free-space radiation, and the mode appears as a Fano resonance on the FP-mode background. The FP mode provides the continuum background, resulting in a Fano line shape that depends on the FP cavity length.
