Against the backdrop of a labor shortage caused by a declining birthrate and aging population, the use of AI is advancing across various fields. However, cloud-based AI is subject to communication delays and the risk of data leaks, leading to growing interest in edge AI, which performs processing directly on end devices. In this presentation, we will analyze the energy consumption of “RC-Spike,” a brain-inspired in-memory computing circuit expected to offer low power consumption, through simulation, and report on its potential.
