This study reports on the results of performance evaluations of an Arched IDT conducted with the aim of developing an ultrasonic cleaning device that utilizes acoustic streaming generated by surface acoustic wave (SAW). Measurements of the acoustic streaming velocity revealed that the Arched IDT produced a lower acoustic streaming velocity compared to a parallel-shaped IDT. Furthermore, observations of the acoustic streaming’s spread pattern showed that the streaming expanded laterally as the distance from the device increased.
